How to Bake the Perfect Guava Cake Roll

Guava roll cake is a delightful dessert that combines the lightness of sponge cake with the tropical sweetness of guava. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 eggs and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and mix until well combined.

Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly using a spatula. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cake is lightly golden on top.

Meanwhile, prepare a filling by combining 1 cup of guava puree with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened, then remove from the heat and let it cool.

Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Carefully transfer the cake onto a clean kitchen towel, then roll it up tightly. Let it cool completely.

Unroll the cake and spread the guava filling evenly over the surface. Gently roll it back up and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
