The way people get access to dry marijuana is changing. After August 2016, access to medical marijuana replaced the old MMPR (Medical Marijuana). Since the introduction of the Marihuana and Legal Matters Act in 1999, things have changed.

Then in August 2016, the judge ruled in court that this was unconstitutional. Since then, the cannabis laws have changed again. Today, starting August 2016, MMPR consists of four parts:
Part 1 contains the same framework as MMPR, which is actually a set of frameworks for commercial production by a licensed manufacturer responsible for the manufacture and distribution of quality-controlled dry cannabis products.
Part two establishes the framework for those who have the right to produce limited quantities of dry marijuana for their own medicinal purposes or appoint someone to produce it. Now you can ask what this means for doctors. The role of the doctor remains unchanged.
As with previous rules and regulations, a person who needs marijuana for medical purposes must first obtain medical documents from an authorized health care professional.
